As one of my first assignments at Gensler, I took the helm for the design of Pfizer's Helix Gallery, situated in their new headquarters at "The Spiral" in Hudson Yard. As a centerpeice in their office, "The Helix Gallery" is a celebration of Pfizer's brand identity and most significant acheivements, echoing the spiral motifs in their helix brand symbol.
This circular and unusual exhibition space features an evolving narrative, designed to be reimagined every other year to showcase Pfizers most noteworthy achievments. It's a place where storytelling is brought to life through digital screens and surfaces that lead visitors on a linear journey, culminating in an immersive 360-degree gallery in the middle. This central zone has complicated twin projection surfaces, with an interactive experience of visuals and sound.
Designed around a network of sensors, the gallery responds to the presence of visitors, triggering content and sound that escort them through the chapters of Pfizer's storys. At its heart is a massive interactive and complex projection surface driven by 8 separate projectors, and controlled by a touch designer application, allowing for a tactile connection with the exhibition's message.
The inaugural exhibition delves into the historic rush to develop the COVID-19 vaccine, spotlighting the unprecedented innovations undertaken during this global challenge.
To maintain confidentiality around the sensitive nature of Pfizer's work and their strategic silence on the vaccine discourse, the Helix Gallery remains unpublicized, with no imagery or filming permitted.
